Ripple Introduces Xpring and hopes to fund multiple startups

WHILE many investors are busy attending and watching the Consensus 2018 conference, Ripple has quietly announced Xpring.

Xpring provides a solution to startup companies and entrepreneurs who want to form a company or project in the blockchain industry. The goal of Ripple’s initiative is to provide seed capital to these companies by providing them with their digital asset XRP and the XRP Ledger.

Ripple has repositioned Ethan Beard, the current Senior Vice President, to now lead Xpring and Ripple’s developer program. In the past, Beard had worked for tech-giant Facebook as the Director of Facebook’s Developer Network spanning from 2009 to 2012.

Ethan Beard had this to say about Xpring from Ripple’s official blog post: “I love helping startups leverage new technologies and developments to grow. At Facebook, we saw companies in areas like gaming, music, and news use our platform to become big businesses. Blockchain and digital assets have the ability to solve important problems and XRP – with it’s speed, scalability and demonstrated real-world use case – is a great tool for startups and entrepreneurs to build businesses around.”
