Edward Snowden hints he may have used bitcoin to help reveal government secrets

IN the video, Snowden states that: “You see these little tribal battles happening in the cryptocurrency space where they pick out a flavor, and anyone who uses anything else is the enemy.”

He went further to add: “This is an enormous mistake, because the entire population of cryptocurrency users is a tiny minority and this has to changed if you want your rights to be defended once this reaches the democratic states of regulation.”

Snowden is well-known as the former CIA employee, and contractor for the United States government who copied and leaked classified information from the NSA in 2013 without authorization. His disclosures revealed numerous global surveillance programs.

He had also hinted his use of cryptocurrency in the transfer of leaked documents to journalists, he said: “On the great project of my life, back in 2013, I thought how I could get this great archive of information to journalists, the question is, do i need server infrastructure of my own, how would i pay for that anonymously, maybe someone like me might have used Bitcoin.”

Edward Snowden continues to live in an undisclosed location in Moscow and has been granted asylum until 2020.
